A Homegrown Chocolate Box

We’ll let the experts at South Miami chocolate shop Garcia Nevett supply the goods for one of our favorite gifts to give this year: the GN Experience Box ($120). It features enough handmade chocolates to feed a family of four, with hand-rolled French-style truffles, bonbons, dark chocolate cacao nibs, s’mores chocolate bars and an entire jar of fresh caramel.

Portable Cocktails

Miami Cocktail Company, we love you. The homegrown food biz bottles up our city’s vibrant flavors into portable, ready-to-serve cocktails. There’s the Blood Orange Mimosa, made with sparkling wine, blood orange and a touch of Florida grapefruit juice; the Copper Pot Margarita, with blue agave wine, key lime and Valencia orange juice; and the Sunset Sangria, blended with red wine, mango, pineapple, orange and lime juice. We’ll take one of each, please.

Tickets to The Art of Banksy

Because experiential gifts are all the rage, treat your culture-vulture pal to the Art of Banksy exhibit at Magic City Studios. It features more than 80 unique works created by the England-based street artist, including Balloon Girl [[or Girl with Balloon ?]] (of shredder infamy). Though the exhibit opens during Art Basel, it’ll stick around through the holiday season. (Full disclosure: The artist himself hasn’t authorized the exhibition, so proceed accordingly.)

A Page-Turning Read

Got a bookworm on your list? Lauren Groff’s latest short-story collection, Florida, was one of our favorite reads of the year, and it just so happens to center around the Sunshine State itself, the author’s adopted home (in all its weird, muggy glory). You might want to pick up a copy for yourself too.

A Mani/Pedi at Vanity Projects

This one goes out to our BFF who could use a little time for herself. Pick her up a gift card for Vanity Projects, a next-level NYC-based salon in the Design District. The space is sleek, clean and ultra-modern, and the nail art is beyond impressive (think everything from leopard-print to marble to tiny roses). She’s sure to leave relaxed, recharged and ready to take on the New Year.

A Cooking Class at La Centrale

You know what they say: The way to someone’s heart is through her (or his) stomach. Plus, we could all use a little help with our food prep. Give your aspiring-chef friends a class in La Centrale’s state-of-the-art demo kitchen, like an intro to Neapolitan pizza or cannoli making or even an aperitivo cocktail workshop. Out of all of Miami’s cooking schools, La Cucina has the most robust schedule, which means you can gift a class for almost any day of the week.

A Class Pack to CykleJab Studio

You know that friend who’s at Barry’s Bootcamp five times a week, cycles on the weekend and still complains that no workout is really that challenging? Give her a pack of classes to CykleJab. This two-in-one workout combines upper-body boxing and lower-body cycling into a 50-minute class. For an added level of competition, she can even throw on a fitness tracker and display her stats on one of four large screens inside the workout room.
