Everything You Need to Know About “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”
It’s almost heeeeere
Calling all Potterheads. It's almost here. And by it, we obviously mean Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: Parts 1 & 2, the eighth story in the Harry Potter series. Here's everything we know about it:
It's not so much a new novel as a script.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a play that's currently running in London. The book is a script of the stage production.
It wasn't written by J.K. Rowling--but she was involved.
The play was written by screenwriter and playwright Jack Thorne, based on a story dreamed up by Thorne, Rowling and John Tiffany.
It's still about Harry.
Specifically in his role as a husband and father in later years. It also focuses on Albus, Harry's youngest son, as he struggles with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted.
All your faves (and not-so-faves) are back.
Including Harry (duh), Ron, Hermione, Ginny and dun-dun-dun....Draco Malfoy.
You can buy it on Sunday.
The book's being released on J.K. Rowling's birthday. HBD, J.K.!
It'll probably be turned into a movie.
Warner Bros. trademarked the name earlier this month, but don't expect a film adaptation anytime soon. Movie-making on this scale takes time, people.
