Wait 'Til You Hear What HGTV Almost Called ‘Property Brothers’

Jonathan and Drew Scott are widely recognized as the stars of Property Brothers. But did you know that their renovation show was almost called Bros Before Renos? (No, we’re not kidding.)

The bombshell was dropped earlier this month when Jeopardy! featured a question about the show’s original title. This prompted Jonathan (45) to take the discussion to social media, where he asked fans to weigh in on what could have been.

Jonathan shared a photo of the Jeopardy! question and wrote, “Hmm…I know this one… [laughing emoji] Post your non Property Brothers answers here!” Fans flooded the comments section with priceless responses—including Drew who wrote, “What is Stud and a Dud!”

This isn’t the first time the siblings have addressed the name of their show. During an interview on The Carlos Watson Show, Jonathan revealed that Drew wasn’t sold on Property Brothers. “Drew actually hated Property Brothers,” Jonathan said. “He put it on his list [of potential names] originally, but he kept going back and saying, ‘No, no, no. I don’t think it’s right.’”

Drew added, “The reason I didn’t like it is because, the business brain in me, I’m thinking, ‘If we go Property Brothers, they could probably find two other brothers that renovate and replace us very easily. We should have something more specific, that makes it harder for them to replace us.”

All we have to say is…phew.
