‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Fans Discovered Major Evidence Pointing to a Return by Cristina Yang

*Warning: Spoilers ahead*

We’re still in denial over Derek Shepherd’s (Patrick Dempsey) return from the dead on Grey’s Anatomy. And now, the popular ABC series is giving us another reason to (virtually) lean on our person.

Fans recently discovered three key pieces of evidence that hint at a possible return by Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh). It all started when Grey’s Anatomy showrunner Krista Vernoff revealed that McDreamy’s cameo in Meredith’s (Ellen Pompeo) dreams will be the first of many.

“You have to tune in and see who comes to the beach,” she told Deadline.

This prompted fans to go into full-blown detective mode, scouring the internet for clues. Much to our delight, one Twitter user discovered that the Grey’s Anatomy IMDB page has recently been updated. While Oh’s name used to reflect her season 10 departure, it now says that her most recent appearance occurred in 2020. Coincidence? We think not.

To top it off, one fan discovered another piece of evidence on the Shondaland’s Instagram page. When someone speculated about Yang’s return, the production company wrote a comment, which read: “So you’re saying we should page cardio?” Many believe it’s a reference to Dr. Yang’s specialty (cardiovascular surgeon).

Yes, it’s a huge stretch. But when combined with the rest of the clues, we wouldn’t be surprised if Dr. Yang makes a much-needed return to Grey’s Anatomy (even if it’s in Meredith’s dreams).

Grey’s Anatomy returns to ABC on Thursday, December 3, at 9 p.m.
