This New Katharine McPhee Show Is #3 on Netflix & It’s a Must-Watch for ‘Firefly Lane’ Fans

If you enjoy semi-cheesy romantic offerings like Firefly Lane and Ginny & Georgia, then you’ll love this all-new Netflix series, Country Comfort, which is gaining popularity for all the right reasons.

Country Comfort is a ten-episode sitcom about an aspiring country music singer (played by Katharine McPhee). While it just premiered on the streaming service on March 19, it’s already claimed the number three spot on Netflix’s list of most-watched shows. (It’s currently ranked behind Ginny & Georgia and The One.)

The story follows Bailey (McPhee), an aspiring country music artist who’s unexpectedly fired from her singing gig at a bar. When her car dies in the middle of a storm, she approaches a home that just so happens to be occupied by a family looking for a nanny.

One thing leads to another, and Bailey ends up getting hired by a handsome widower, Beau (Eddie Cibrian), to look after his children.

In addition to McPhee and Cibrian, Country Comfort also stars Eric Balfour, Janet Varney, Shiloh Verrico, Jamie Martin Mann, Kirrilee Berger, Ricardo Hurtado, Brooklynn MacKinzie and Alexander Neher.

The series was created by Caryn Lucas (Miss Congeniality), who also wrote the script alongside Julia Fowler (The Closer), Peter Marc Jacobson (The Nanny) and Ron Rappaport (Lab Rats: Bionic Island).

BRB, adding Country Comfort to our streaming queue.
