8 Heirs to the British Throne You’ve Probably Never Heard of

Queen Elizabeth. Prince Charles. Prince William. Prince George. We’d consider ourselves pretty familiar with the British line of succession.

However, did you know that the list of successors includes names like Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall?! We didn't either. Keep reading for the eight heirs you’ve probably never heard of.

11. The Earl Of Wessex

After Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Prince Harry, Master Archie, Prince Andrew, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie comes the Earl of Wessex. He’s the youngest child of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, putting him at number 11 in the line of succession. Prince Edward is one of the lesser known royals, but he’s been taking on more responsibilities ever since his dad retired from public service in 2019.

12. Viscount Severn

More commonly known as James, Her Majesty’s youngest grandchild is the only son of Edward and Sophie. He joins his family on official appearances on occasion, but he hasn't become one of the more prominent royals. Yet.

13. The Lady Louise Mountbatten-windsor

Lady Louise Windsor is the oldest daughter of Sophie, Countess of Wessex, and Prince Edward. Louise is 13th in line to the British throne.

14. The Princess Royal

The Princess Royal (aka Princess Anne) is Queen Elizabeth’s only daughter. When she was born, Anne was third in line to the British throne behind her mother and Prince Charles. Since then, she’s been bumped down to number 14 due to the inclusion of her younger brothers, along with Prince Charles’s children and grandchildren.

15. Mr. Peter Phillips

Son to parents Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, Peter is not one for the spotlight. But he’s still number 15 in the LOS. The 42-year-old is married (to wife Autumn) and has two young children, Savannah and Isla (more on them below).

16. Miss Savannah Phillips

Like we mentioned before, this 9-year-old is the daughter of the Queen's oldest grandchild, Peter Phillips, and his wife, Autumn. Although she is 16th in line for the throne, she doesn't have a royal title because her father doesn't have one.

17. Miss Isla Phillips

Then there’s Savanah’s younger sister, Isla Elizabeth. Like her big sis, she doesn't have a royal title, but has been spotted at royal events like the Christmas Day church service at Sandringham with the rest of her fam.

18. Mrs. Michael Tindall

Otherwise known as Zara Tindall, this 39-year-old is Peter Phillips’s younger sister. She’s also an equestrian and the second-eldest grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
