Brie Larson’s transformation in the newly released Lessons in Chemistry trailer is honestly making our head spin.

Apple TV+ recently released the first official trailer for the upcoming series, which is based on Bonnie Garmus’s bestselling novel of the same name. Much like the book, Lessons in Chemistry will follow a young woman named Elizabeth Zott, who goes from chemist to cooking show host after being fired from her previous job years prior.

The trailer begins with Zott (Larson) greeting a crowd of spectators. In a matter of seconds, various scenes from the series flash across the scene until we are presented with a single camera shot of the career woman standing in front of a chalkboard, asking the question: “Let’s begin, shall we?”

As a mom, Zott is determined to break the constricting gender norms that heavily define women in this particular period. “I stand proudly with the overlooked war horse of the kitchen,” she says on live television while standing in front of a tasty dish. “Women and potatoes.”

The Captain Marvel actress looks like a completely different person with her curly blonde retro hairstyle and clothes that just scream the 1960s.

Lessons in Chemistry features a talented ensemble cast, including Larson, Rainn Wilson (The Office), Lewis Pullman (Top Gun: Maverick), Aja Naomi King (How to Get Away with Murder) and Kevin Sussman (The Big Bang Theory). Aside from starring in the eight-episode series, the 33-year-old actress will also serve as executive producer.

Mark your calendars: Lessons in Chemistry premieres on Apple TV+ on October 13.
