Much as we love our Prime membership, there are a few things Amazon can’t do. Namely, give us the real talk on whether we can pull off the wide-leg onesie trend. For that kind of thing, we grab our besties and head to these five Chicago blocks, where you can spend all day.

NORTH CLARK STREET BETWEEN WINONA AND BRYN MAWR

With its seemingly endless strip of boutiques and antique shops, Andersonville has our hearts (and wallets).

Shop: Hit Milk Handmade for one-of-a-kind jewelry and tops, and Brimfield and Scout for antiquing (yes, you need that set of vintage campware).

Eat: We die for artichoke caponata on the patio at Anteprima, but when we’re saving up our shopping money, it’s all about the cheap (and delicious) Mediterranean at Taste of Lebanon.

Primp: Local mini-chain 2x10 Nails has its Andersonville location right on Clark Street.

WEST DIVISION BETWEEN WOOD AND DAMEN

With Wicker Park to the north and Ukrainian Village to the south, this little strip is at the center of it all.

Shop: From A.P.C. to Sessun, Penelope’s stocks all the best cool French-girl lines, while Velvet Goldmine is a haven of mid-century design.

Eat: From light and veggie-friendly (Clever Rabbit) to some serious BBQ (Smoke Daddy), there’s pretty much something for everyone.

Primp: Ruby Room will clean up your brows and align your chakras (yep).

WEST ARMITAGE BETWEEN HALSTED AND SHEFFIELD

There’s always something new and fun opening up on this Lincoln Park block.

Shop: Lori’s for shoes, Art Effect for colorful dresses and Interior Define for custom furnishings.

Eat: Chow down on a primo burger at Butcher & the Burger, but save some room for Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams (just across the street).

Primp: Trust Tres Bien Nails for a fresh coat of polish, but when Benefit, Lush and Kiehl’s all have locations on the block, the real game is to stock up and plan a girls’ night.

NORTH SOUTHPORT BETWEEN ROSCOE AND GRACE

Our perfect Saturday: lunch and shopping with a friend, followed by a movie at Music Box Theatre.

Shop: Krista K makes shopping easy with formal looks upstairs and casual downstairs. Meanwhile, we want to wear Lou & Grey’s easy, breezy linen tops to every kind of occasion.

Eat: While you wait for a table at Southport Grocery and Cafe, grab a savory or sweet empanada from Cafe Tola.

Primp: Pinky Nail Studio has maybe the cutest nail salon name we’ve ever heard and, more importantly, all the colors in the Essie and OPI rainbow.

WEST 18TH STREET BETWEEN MORGAN AND ASHLAND

Some of the city's best vintage shopping and galleries await at this Near South Side hood.

Shop: Hit up Modern Cooperative’s Pilsen shop before it closes indefinitely at end of summer (sad face). If you can’t haul home a new sofa, try The Shudio’s delicate gold jewelry.

Eat: You already know Dusek’s is one of our top picks for brunch, but when the line is too long for our growling tummies, we head straight to Simone’s.

Primp: Lakshmi Hair Salon’s sub-$30 pedicure can’t be beat.
