Water Cooler Talk: August 17, 2015
“Beetlejuice” and “The Notebook” are back, baby
This week’s news is too good to delay. Let’s get chatting.
A “BEETLEJUICE” SEQUEL IS ON THE WAY
It’s evidently the era of the Hollywood reboot (Jurassic World, Mad Max, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Fuller House…we can go on). And Winona Ryder just confirmed on Late Night with Seth Meyers that Beetlejuice 2 (yes, also starring Michael Keaton) is officially happening.
AND THE CW IS DEVELOPING “THE NOTEBOOK” FOR TV
According to an Entertainment Weekly report, the series will focus on Allie and Noah’s relationship in its early stages, set against historical 1940s North Carolina.
COLUMBIA HOUSE FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY
The iTunes of the ’80s has finally shut down. (Add it to the list of things your kid will never understand.) But the real shocker: the fact that it even survived to 2015.
ONE-HOUR FLIGHTS FROM NYC TO LONDON COULD HAPPEN
And it will pretty much be a roller-coaster. Airbus is currently patenting its Concorde 2.0, which uses rocket boosters and a vertical trajectory to skip the pond at Mach 4.5 speed. Don’t worry, you’d be seated in a hammock…for comfort? Maybe distraction? We’re not exactly sure.
