Attention, parents: This fall, don’t be surprised to see Sesame Street available to stream right next to Game of Thrones.
Yep, just this morning, Sesame Workshop announced a five-year deal that brings the next five seasons to its new home: HBO.
The good news: The partnership means more episodes (35 instead of the usual 18) and HBO has big plans to work with Sesame Workshop to create even more educational programming for kids, including a spinoff series starring all the puppets you know and love.
The bad news: PBS (the official home of Sesame Street for the last 45 years) will still air the show, but only after nine months of HBO exclusivity.
Bottom line: Great if you want to plunk your brood in front of an HBO GO-equipped iPad. Not so great if you’re worried about them tapping over to watch Ballers or Real Sex.
