Welcome to your pre-dawn dance-party workout
We’re always trying to find entertaining workouts--like, say, trapeze yoga or art-gallery Pilates. But recently we discovered the most fun workout since the days when we stayed out all night. It’s Daybreaker, the early-morning dance party that draws on the powers of your inner cardio queen and club kid.
The multi-city event happens every two weeks in Los Angeles. Past venues have included Wurstküche in DTLA and Zanzibar in Santa Monica. The next to-be-announced location will be on the east side on January 27. Daybreaker lasts two hours beginning at 6:30 a.m. and costs $25.
But then you visit the healthy refreshments table (water and energy drinks are served in lieu of anything alcoholic), and let the bass line move you, literally. Before you know it, you’re bouncing with a guy wearing a Superman cape in a free-form dance that’s as peppy and aerobic as any fitness class we’ve ever taken.
It’s the perfect best-friend date. You’ll get an endorphin rush while trying out new dances--and we know you have the moves.
