SoulCycle? So indoors. Treadmill class? So intense. You need to switch up your weekend burn, and only a fresh-air workout will do.

If it’s fitness with a view you need, sign up for CrossTown Fitness’s take on the Saturday morning stand-up paddleboarding class at North Avenue Beach--an hour-long, full-body experience that begins with a 15-minute cardio blast on dry land.

Starting at 8:30 a.m. (aka before the volleyball hunks take over the beach), you’ll do a body-weight-based routine that includes running, push-ups and squats, all made a zillion times more difficult by the fact that you’re doing them in the sand.

Then you’ll grab a board and cool off in the water with an instructor from Chicago SUP, who will teach you paddleboarding basics (beginners welcome) to help you strengthen everything from your core to your ankles.

When it’s over, spread out your towel and air dry as you soak up some rays with the sun worshippers. Just be sure you can see the volleyball courts.
