These 5 NYC Nail Salons Will Glam You Up Outdoors

If coronavirus-fears forced you to skip your special spa days, you might be delighted to learn many NYC nail salons are offering outdoor services in hopes of luring you back in for some lacquered-up lovin'. And with the milder temps of spring, er, afoot, you may find that fresh air and a fresh coat of your favorite polish is the perfect way to decompress and pretend for a minute—or 60—that life is now as it was pre-pandemic. So, grab a good read or a pal, and get ready to prop up your piggies at these five NYC nail salon spots.

1. Lili And Cata

This Greenpoint gem transformed its backyard deck into a straight-up spa nirvana complete with heated lamps, comfy recliners and tenting that will shield you from the elements while you bask in the goodness of their waterless mani-pedis and non-toxic polishes. There's even a menu of baked goods and drinks from their cafe and wine bar.

72 Greenpoint Avenue; (917) 909-0421;

2. Dolce Spa

Located in Manhattan's Yorkville nabe, Dolce Spa transports customers to an urban escape right from its storefront's sidewalk. Curtains shroud a space for up to seven customers to get pampered with mani, pedi, massage and yes, even waxing services. The pop-up service has been such a hit that the owner plans to expand soon. An added plus? Dolce is also pooch-friendly.

3. Mani Or Pedi Mobile Nail Salon

How does a spa day smack dab in the middle of Central Park sound? Mani or Pedi, a mobile nail salon servicing Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens, can make it happen. From rooftops to terraces to gardens, Mani or Pedi can polish your digits or up to 20 pals' if you wish.

Mobile; (646) 689-6833;

4. Symbelle Beauty Spa

You'll have to act fast if you want an outdoor mani at Symbelle—the appointment-only salon has seating for only one lucky VIP outside of its Upper East Side location. While a partition separates you from your manicurist, there will be plenty of people watching to be had as you watch passersby on Third Avenue. Services are dependent on the weather, says an employee, so if it's below 50 degrees, you'll be out of luck.

1044 3rd Ave; (212) 752-6663;

5. Spa Bene

A secret spa garden awaits customers in the rear of Upper West Side haven Spa Bene. Four patrons can enjoy waterless manis, pedis, and massages—depending on the weather. Call before you visit, says Bene's owner.

465 Columbus Ave; (212) 874.3300;
