Step One: Cleanser
“CeraVe’s in my shower and Krave Beauty is on my bathroom counter. Both are gentle on my skin, which is key when you're using active ingredients like retinol or exfoliating acids in your routine. Oh, and while we're on the topic of face-washing: Don't forget to massage the suds around your hairline and in your eyebrows, as those areas are often neglected but tend to accumulate oil and residue.”

Step Two: Treatments
“I alternate between a custom treatment from Curology and a Sunday Riley serum. A common mistake that many people make (and I've certainly made in the past) is using too many active ingredients at the same time. At best, you're negating the effects of your products. At worst, you piss off your skin and end up with a red, patchy mess. The blend from Curology has tretinoin, azelaic acid and niacinamide in it because ya girl is prone to sunspots. And the Sunday Riley serum has lactic acid in it, which keeps my pores clear without being too aggressive on my skin.”

Step Three: Sheet Masks
“Whenever I feel extra dry, extra puffy or extra sensitized, I plop one of these on my face. Fun fact: Mediheal is *the* bestselling sheet mask brand in Korea. I appreciate that they're extra juicy and fit my face better than most others. (And they have a special collaboration set with BTS that comes with photocards so...)”

Step Four: Eye Cream
“Bar the one or two actives I use, everything else in my routine is intentionally kept simple. I love this eye cream from La Roche-Posay because it has a cooling gel-cream texture that absorbs quickly and doesn’t irritate my eyes. Also, the pump applicator is a much nicer alternative to dipping my finger into a tiny tub repeatedly.”

Step Five: Moisturizer
“The CeraVe lotion was recommended to me by a derm friend when I started having eczema flare-ups and I liked it so much that I kept using it long after my skin calmed down. It's a bland moisturizer in the very best way in that it gets the job done without clogging my pores or causing any sort of reaction. Occasionally I'll swap in my ol' faithful, Dr. Jart's Ceramidin Cream when I want something richer.”

Step Six: Ointment
“When I have the occasional eczema flare-up or dry patch, I'll apply a bit of this occlusive ointment over it to keep the moisture in overnight. You can call it spot slugging. I like to use it on my lips, elbows and knees as well. It’s a true multi-purpose balm that’s free of any potentially irritating fragrances or dyes, and it’s non-comedogenic, which is among many of the reasons why I always keep a tube of this around.”
