7 Drugstore Beauty Products Every Chicago Woman Should Have
What’s in our bag? Some crumpled receipts, half a bag of peanut M&M’s and these seven drugstore beauty products. At less than $20 each, they’re our hands-down favorite things to pick up from Walgreen’s—except, of course, for M&M’s.
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor ($9)
The last $25 lipstick you purchased fell onto the "L" tracks. Save your big spends at Sephora for things like serums and makeup brushes, and get your trendy lip colors at the drugstore. Not only are they more affordable, but we personally love this product that goes on like a gloss but looks like a pencil.
Jergens Natural Glow Wet Skin Moisturizer ($9)
We’re sorry, but who is ready to don a bathing suit after a winter stuffed inside a down coat? Enter this lotion, which builds a natural-looking tan. Bonus: You can apply directly to wet skin to lock in moisture (and shave time off your morning routine).
Neutrogena Sheer Zinc Face Dry-Touch Sunscreen ($13)
With your “natural glow” set, you’re ready to hit Oak Street Beach, right? Not quite. Prevent skin cancer and premature aging with this little wonder, which magically provides chemical-free sunscreen in a sheer formula. Goodbye, white mime face.
False Lashes ($7)
If you haven’t splurged on extensions yet, these are the next best thing. Plus, no raccoon eyes an hour after you leave the house (sorry, mascara). Drugstores like Walgreen’s, actually have a pretty nice variety for sale. At only $7 or less (and this pack comes with multiple sets), they’re a great little extra beauty thing to play around with.
Dove Invigorating Dry Shampoo ($4)
We’re in favor of anything that allows us to sleep in in the morning, so this dry shampoo is a favorite. It absorbs oil, leaving only a subtly sweet scent, no chalky residue. It also perks up our flat, day-after-blowout hair.
Aveeno Positively Radiant 60 Second In-Shower Facial
Not to be a broken record, but our time is precious. So when we discovered this new one-minute mask that exfoliates with glycolic acid, lemon-peel extract and soy exfoliate, we were pretty thrilled. Swap it in for your regular cleanser twice a week and say hello to tighter pores and brighter skin tone.
