Gird your loins: Music-festival season is fast approaching.
But don’t worry, there’s no experience we would recommend less than standing in a hot field for hours on end, pretending to love crocheted vests.
The reason we bring it up is strangely out of pride. Because newbie Brooklyn band Haerts is about to take over Coachella.
The indie-pop quartet just released its self-titled debut album and has been slowly but surely gaining steam. We first discovered the musicians when they performed “Wings” (a catchy little love song in the vein of Wilson Phillips) last month on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Then before we knew it, we had streamed the album in its entirety for days straight. (“Call My Name” also has that early-’80s, soft-rock vibe you know you miss.)
Maybe you are trekking to Indio in April. (If so, Godspeed, sister.) Or maybe you’re like us and just looking for some lighthearted commuting tunes. Either way, you’ll be glad you got on board.
