Water Cooler Talk: Feb. 2-8, 2015
Kristen Wiig is your new Ghostbuster, and "Serial" is stumped
Let’s get right to it: Here are your conversation starters for the week.
The All-Female "Ghostbusters" Cast Is Official
After much speculation, the results are in: Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy (booyah!) along with SNL up-and-comers Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. Filming begins this summer in New York City...in case you’d like to book a trip and hope for the celeb-spotting best. (And here are 10 more movies we’d like to see rebooted with all-female casts.)
"Serial" Has No Idea Which Story To Tell Next
Serial broke the mold for podcasts as we knew them. Its popularity reached cult-worship levels. But host Sarah Koenig is totally stumped for Season 2. She said during a Penn State Q&A last week that if you have an idea, let her know. (Or just follow along the hysterical hashtag #SerialSeason2.)
H&M May Be Coming to Your Town
The awesome, affordable-clothing store (you once could find only in major markets like New York, Chicago and L.A.) just announced it will open 400 new stores around the world this year. No word yet on which exact cities, but according to Fortune, the bulk will be in the U.S. and China.
Nick Offerman Shaves His Mustache, Breaks Hearts
Now that Parks and Rec is a wrap, apparently so is Ron Swanson’s signature ’stache. Offerman debuted his new facial-hair configuration (which, uh, is the literal opposite) at Sundance.
Oh, Yeah, and Katy Perry Won the Super Bowl
Regardless of what you think of her, girl goes big.
