“Lip Sync Battle” vs. “The Tonight Show”
Will Spike’s new series live up to the hype?
It may come as a surprise, but Jimmy Fallon no longer has a monopoly over lip-sync battles. In fact, he’s open to sharing the mic. Next Thursday, April 2, at 10 p.m. EST, Spike is premiering their very own show Lip Sync Battle, which is dedicated entirely to--you guessed it--celebrities mouthing lyrics to their favorite jams. But before you tune in, let's revist five battles that started the lip-sync revolution.
1. Paul Rudd
In this Tonight Show bit, Paul Rudd confirms his place our heart. Plus, he's really good at moving like a tiger.
2. Joseph Gordon Levitt & Stephen Merchant
JGL blows us away with his rendition of “Super Bass.” And we all started calling Jimmy “James” thanks to Stephen Merchant.
3. Emma Stone
Our homegirl sings Blues Traveler and DJ Khaled. Then drops the mic.
4. Will Farrell & Kevin Hart
Will Farrell and Frozen are a match made in TV heaven.
5. John Krasinski
John Krasinski was the original lip sync competitor back when Jimmy was hosting Late Night. Watch. Listen. Learn.
