Cartier Women's Initiative Awards
An event celebrating female entrepreneurs
On February 12, PureWow readers joined Editor in Chief Mary Kate McGrath, Cartier North America President and CEO Mercedes Abramo, and female entrepreneurs and influencers at the French Embassy in Washington, D.C. to celebrate the Cartier Women's Initiative Awards, the annual competition that identifies and supports female entrepreneurs in the start-up world.
Each year six laureates from across the globe are awarded a $20,000 grant and receive coaching by a select group of mentors for a full year. The evening featured an inspiring discussion between 2010 North American finalist Kavita Shukla, whose Fenugreen FreshPaper keeps fruits and vegetables fresher longer, a vital product for third-world nations, and Ting Shih, the 2012 North American winner, whose ClickMedix offers cost-effective access to remote doctors for diagnosis, treatment, research and training via a mobile healthcare platform.
Cartier's mission is to create an international network of female entrepreneurs, and the evening at the French Embassy was no exception. After the discussion, guests mingled over wine and exchanged business cards. The crowd was urged to apply for the 2015 edition of the Cartier Women's Initiative Awards. Applications remain open until March 4th. Here's how to apply now.
