Paid "Period Leave" Is Officially a Thing

Hello, work perks

You know the days when your cramps are the goddamn worst? A non-profit organization in the UK just officially green-lit a “period policy” that actually allows women to take paid time off whenever they’re dealing with bloating, cramping and general ovarian unhappiness.

And here’s the most amazing part: It won’t count against their sick time.

Yep, all 31 employees (7 of which are male) at Coexist are on board with the new ladies-only initiative, which basically allows women to listen to their body’s natural cycle and skip work and curl up on the couch if their period pain is too great.

In fact, the female boss is so confident with the policy, she believes it will not only boost happiness, but productivity, too. (She claims women are way better workers overall if they’ve had a chance to properly rest up during the sucky part of their cycle.)

Meanwhile, all we can picture is the email to our boss. Subject Line: Cramps.
