We're spicing up our Thanksgiving table with something really special this year: fresh little flavor bombs called Früute tarts.
They're the creation of a local mother and her two daughters who've each brought unique talents to the table--and a new West Hollywood shop. Mom Christina Santosa is the baker. Daughter Sylvia, a fashion designer, sketches the look of each $3 pastry--ensuring a white-chocolate fan perches just so atop the yuzu tart, or that a macaron rests beret-like on the butterscotch budino.
Last but not least, daughter Yo, a branding dynamo, has created hostess-gift-worthy packaging and a white-on-white shop where the display is raised and lit like a jewelry case.
Only a few months old, the shop has just added a delivery service, as well as seasonal flavors like spiced pumpkin and apple crumble. On Friday, cookies and new flavors launch, including pomegranate with raspberry port and jam-filled chocolate puffs atop flourless chocolate cake.
Now even if everything isn't perfection for Thursday's meal, we're sure our friends and family will go home happy after a sweet Früute finish.
