John Derian's limited-edition flat for Repetto
Whether it's his 19th-century-inspired decoupage, delicate, hand-painted candleholders ($30) or unique serving trays, we never leave the artist's store empty-handed.
Now, Derian has given us one more creation to love: a new, special-edition ballet flat for Repetto, the legendary company that invented the ballet shoe as we know it, then made it comfortable enough to wear off stage.
Aptly named after Brigitte Bardot (who popularized wearing ballet flats on the streets), Derian's flats ($295) evoke an old-fashioned elegance with bright, cheery flowers and his signature calligraphy. The beautiful design, paired with Repetto's ultra-soft leather, make for a shoe that is not only walkable, but also versatile. We'd wear them out to dinner, or to the farmers' market.
The flats are currently on sale at John Derian, Bergdorf Goodman and Opening Ceremony. Act quickly: A little decoupage bird tells us they're flying off the shelves.
