Book your dream New York event space
We don't know about you, but we've always wanted to host an intimate dinner party at Katharine Hepburn's Turtle Bay brownstone, a late-night cocktail reception at Lady Gaga's onetime East Village pad or an out-and-out soiree at the fundamentally fabulous Frick.
Now we can, thanks to the online venue marketplace Eventup.
Launched last month in California, Eventup has now opened its virtual doors in New York, allowing area venue owners (large and small) to list their spaces for by-the-day rentals.
To find a space, you can search by neighborhood, type of venue, guest capacity and price range and even narrow by criteria like “full bar” or “wheelchair accessible.” Our search for a 50-person Manhattan party spot, for instance, yielded everything from a raw midtown loft to a Central Park apartment to a ritzy hotel penthouse.
And then there are those places you never even knew you could rent: Lincoln Center, the Bartow-Pell Mansion, Bob Dylan?s former apartment--and often at rather reasonable rates, we might add.
Meanwhile, should you be the owner of a lovely, underutilized pied-à-terre, why not offer it up for somebody else?s office party or bridal shower? Consider it a lucrative way to spread the real estate love.
