CURLS GONE WILD
Go natural at Miss Jessie's CurlBar
Between products that give us greasy, crunchy waves, an unrelenting fear of rain and a strong resemblance to Sideshow Bob when we wake up in the morning, it's a jungle out there for curly-haired gals.
We can finally put away the flatiron thanks to Miss Jessie's CurlBar. Cofounded by spiral-maned sisters Miko and Titi Branch, Miss Jessie's is already beloved for its styling products that fight frizz with shea butter and avocado. The new salon in Soho offers quick walk-in services for those whose unruly locks need a little taming.
Much like our go-to spot for sleek blowouts, the CurlBar offers nothing but cuts and styles--only these show off our hair's natural texture. On the service menu are the Juicy Fruit ($100), in which wet hair is twisted into spirals that hold their shape all day, and the Hot Rod ($100), which yields bouncy waves courtesy of a curling iron.
A stylist flawlessly curled our strands, while simultaneously adding volume and taming frizz with Miss Jessie's famous Curly Pudding. She was so pleased with her handiwork that she snapped our photo for her before-and-after file.
We've never been so proud of our curls.
