The Burch sisters enter the family business
Well played, Trademark.

When your father is retail mogul Chris Burch and your ex-stepmom happens to be Tory Burch, crafting your own fashion line is practically expected. So when sisters Alexandra (“Pookie”) and Louisa (“Weezie”) announced their debut line this past February, we weren’t too surprised.

What did surprise us is how much we actually like it.

Trademark’s impressive premier collection features 105 ready-to-wear pieces, plus a healthy variety of shoes and accessories (a sizable feat for a first go-around). The aesthetic is Americana-inspired, with clean lines and refreshingly modern silhouettes. Think sporty nylon raincoats, full A-line skirts and boxy pastel tees. While it’s pretty easy to spot Tory’s influence (shift dresses galore), Trademark sets itself apart by offering a friendly price point--possibly a hint from their market-minded pop.

With new items arriving every month, we’re currently crushing on the waist-cinching Beauvoir tunic ($188) and the gingham Saleci skirt ($158). The selection of transparent totes is high on our list of spring essentials. Not to mention, anyone who’s on board with a tailored linen suit gets our vote.

If sisterly pairs like those behind Dannijo and Rodarte are any indication of fashion’s love of a duo, these gals are set to make their mark.
