How to master a flawless face
Every so often a person walks into our life and turns our whole perspective on its head. First, it was Livia Scott on pantyhose. Then, Dave Eggers on social media. And now makeup artist Tina Turnbow has totally uprooted our beauty routine. We’re here to pay it forward.
Watch this video that follows Turnbow as she shows her insider tips to a flawless face.
In the meantime, here are a few highlights (get it?):
Primer is great, but face oil is better Turnbow’s very first step is applying this magic oil (Colbert M.D. Illumino, to be exact) to our face. It smells fantastic and completely quenches our parched skin, although Turnbow claims it’s the perfect base for all skin types.
The key word is “dewy” A natural flush can take years off your face. To get this look, always apply product with your fingertips--even foundation. Opt for a cream blush instead of powder, and use highlighting concealer for a boost (Turnbow swears by Dior Skinflash Radiance Booster versus the cult-favorite YSL Touche Éclat Radiant Touch).
Taupe eye shadow goes a long way Did you know you can use taupe eye shadow to contour your cheekbones? And as filler on your brows? And then again for a smoky eye? Seriously, this guy gets around (stay tuned!).
