HEEL THE WORLD
How to design your own footwear
The labor of love of two footwear-loving sisters, Milk & Honey makes the virtual design process intuitive and fun. Begin on the shoe-builder page by selecting a basic style: pumps, flats, sandals, wedges or booties. Next, you'll be prompted to adjust things like toe shape (round, pointy, peep, etc.), heel backs, ankle straps and (mercifully) heel height. You can add embellishments like bows, piping and platforms, or keep things super simple. As for color and fabric, there's a wealth of options ranging from black leather to purple snakeskin to gold glitter.
Orders take six to eight weeks to process and range in price from $200 to around $400, depending on how many goodies you add. We created an adorable pair of patent leather t-straps that came to $285.
Draw inspiration from Milk & Honey's extensive style gallery, or just start designing the show-stoppers you've always dreamed of.
