Not much in life can top blue skies, bright sunshine, warm sand and an ocean breeze. But a fabulous day at the beach is only as good as the natural beauty surrounding it--meaning no random trash to step over.

That’s why Barefoot Wine has spent the past 20 years supporting the ocean-friendly nonprofit Surfrider Foundation.

For the eighth summer in a row, the two organizations are getting together to host volunteer cleanup days at various beaches around the country, followed by a “You’re Totally Awesome for Helping Mother Nature” celebration at the end. The events include refreshments of the fermented-grape variety as well as special performances by hometown musicians (ahem, NYC, like Vanessa Carlton). So it’s really a no-brainer to pitch in for a couple hours.

Go to BeachRescue2014.com to find your nearest participating beach--from the Rockaways to Fort Lauderdale, Charleston to Portland (and even Austin’s Ladybird Lake)--and get pumped to give back.
