An overhyped trend (ahem, neon) we can take or leave. But that subtle pinch of edge in our wardrobes that makes us feel current and a little tough on even the most routine weekdays? That we’re never giving up.
Now we’ll extend our search for those unexpected pieces to the new Chicago showroom of L.A.-based online retailer Rad and Refined. Headed by up-and-coming stylist Jacqueline Nicole Rezak, the company made a splash with Second City shoppers during its pop-up trunk show at the Waldorf-Astoria last winter.
Rezak is meeting with clients by appointment at her permanent River North showroom. There you can get an in-person look at some of our favorite finds from the site, including a comfortable, rocker-chic woven satchel by Fleet Ilya ($625), WGACA’s soft-as-butter Guns N’ Roses T-shirt for layering under a blazer ($118) or cool black Jinx sunglasses from Opening Ceremony ($220).
The brand’s website may come off a bit more rad than refined, but let Rezak know you want the good stuff and she’ll pull from her high-style vintage selection. The inventory is always changing, but a pleated Missoni skirt ($298) and a chunky Chanel necklace ($498) are among the current offerings.
