Netflix Releases Teaser for New Spin-Off ‘Money Heist: Berlin’ (& It’s Coming This Year)

Money Heist fans will be pleased to know that an all-new spin-off series is coming to Netflix.

Today, the streaming service announced that Money Heist: Berlin will premiere in December 2023. Netflix celebrated the exciting news by sharing a teaser video that features the titular character (played by Pedro Alonso) examining a miniature blueprint model.

Money Heist fans know Berlin as the terminally ill thief, who’s the older brother of The Professor (Alvaro Morte). The new show will take place before the events of Money Heist (AKA La Casa de Papel). Therefore, it will likely explore the character’s evolution in addition to his adolescent relationship with his brother.

At Netflix’s 2022 Tudum event, Money Heist creator Alex Pina shared details about what’s to come. “This is going to be a trip throughout the golden years of the character,” he said. “When he was stealing all over Europe, madly in love.” Berlin was married five times, so this could be a wild ride.

Other cast members include Michelle Jenner (Keila), Begona Vargas (Cameron), Julio Peña (Roi), Marcel Gonzalez (Jean), Tristan Ulloa (Damian), Yuri D. Brown (Bertrand) and Joel Sanchez (Bruce). Unfortunately, Netflix hasn’t revealed if Morte (The Professor), Rodrigo de la Serna (Palermo) or Diana Gómez (Tatian) will reprise their roles.

Let the countdown to December begin.
