Kiss Your Dry, Chapped Lips Goodbye with This DIY Scrub

Snowflakes are stunning. Flaky lips? Not so much. While it may seem counterintuitive, exfoliating your dry, chapped lips before applying a hydrating lip balm is actually more effective than just the balm itself. Use this gentle homemade lip scrub (don't worry, it's super-easy to make) once or twice a week to keep your pout in tip-top shape all winter long.

What you need: 1 tablespoon granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, juice from half a lemon and 1 tablespoon honey.

Step 1: Mix both sugars in a small bowl. Squeeze the lemon on top of the mixture.

Step 2: Stir in the honey until well combined, then scoop the whole thing into a lip pot or other small container.

Step 3: Liberally apply the scrub to your lips with a single-use mascara wand and scrub away those dead flakes.

Step 4: Wait 30 seconds, then wipe the mixture off with a warm, wet washcloth and finish with a dab of lip balm.
